Ozzy Surfboards is now Rabid Transit Surfboards
 
Originally the Ozzy Surfboards name was just a name of convenience. Since we have now made the commitment to expand, we need to use a name that is more representative of the collective contributions of everyone, not just a one-man operation appropriately named for Ozzy.

The name Rabid can mean different things to different people. Psycho surfing, drooling, frothing, in a total state of ecstacy, zoned out in nirvana land, or just the feeling that only a surfer knows. Of course the mode of Transit being surfboards.



We had such good feedback from some of the best customers on the planet, that we decided to build a bigger and better manufacturing facility to improve the quality and raise the production level of our boards. After the shop is finished and we are back under production we will also be doing balsa and finless boards. We also hope to start getting set up to build wood veneer boards after we get a vacuum bagging system setup. Veneers are real wood skins under the glassing, over a lightweight EPS core.

The shop is still under construction, but it is nearing completion. We are making a few boards on a very limited basis while the new shop is being finished. Check out the custom page if you would like a board made for you in the mean time. We also have an inStock page for cheap or discounted surfboards that someone may have ordered and never picked up, slightly used R&D boards, or overstocked boards. That page may even turn into our store front with shopping cart features eventually. We still have much work to do on the website also.

Your patience is appreciated while we finish construction on the new shop and continue to add more content and images to this site. The mailing list is a good way to keep up with the progress. Unfortunately our previous email list was lost in a computer hard drive meltdown, and even though the list was backed up, it wasn't backed up properly, so it was lost. Everyone needs to re-subscribe to the mailing list if they wish to be notified of updates and get advanced notice of deals, and special deals for email list subscribers only. This is just our way of saying thank you for your continued support.
